Site visit 22nd November 2011 - The roof is off

I made my first site visit since work began. Was nice to see work well under way -

I arrived in time for Paul from building control to come and inspect the foundation trenches. He could tell the ground was solid on his way up the lane as he could hear the sound of the digger.

Paddy is the current forman on site -

Plans for cottage

Keeping to the original footprint we have introduced a green roof to the byre on the left =

Same main house layout plus a barn conversion -

Still retains a modest layout -

UPDATE

It's been a very painful post tender period, with the focus in getting costs in control prior to starting the restoration works. But with a little luck the restoration works on ArDrum cottage will start within the next two weeks.

As it starts this blog will start to come to life just like the cottage.
